Wounded Magpies sinking without a trace?

Sunday - a day for the individual to get a good rest after a long week of work, whether is it at the day job, school or extra-curricular activities..

In my case, it's the combination of all that has taken a big toll on me, or my body to say the least.

Can't believe i actually fell asleep while watching the Newcastle vs West Ham game last night in studio when we were off-air...haha think it was more an embarassment than joke when PJ & Charlie caught me snoozing in the armchair...HAH!

But hey, blame the computer man, or rather the Internet. Freaking slow connection ensured i couldn't get online to see the statistics of the game and hence, was consigned to the chair and the telly. Coupled with a lack of sleep the night before (4 hours?), a hectic Open House 3rd day and voila, you get a sleeping sheep at the studios...OFF-AIR THAT IS =)

And speaking of the blame game, i'm going to skin Peter Ramage personally when i get to meet him in Newcastle in mid-March when I go over for my Kick-Off trip....

He was solely responsible for the 2 sloppy goals that we conceded against West Ham United last night. First he let Carlton Cole out of his sight during a corner when Calum Davenport knocked it back to the path of......you guessed it..Cole, who grabbed the invitation with both hands as he knocked the ball home. 1-0 to West Ham then...

Then, Ramage allowed Championship-standard striker Marlon Harewood to turn him inside out and latch on to a through-ball to slot past Shay Given. 2-0 then...

Final scored ended 2-2, after James Milner scored a somewhat suspiciously-offside looking goal to bring it back to 2-1 at the stroke of half-time and Nobby Solano equalised after a handball offence in the Hammers' penalty area.

Yes, i think confidence is abit lacking in the entire team right now, considering we just got our arses whooped badly, in front of a home crowd at St James Park even, 5-1 by Championship leaders Birmingham City to send us tumbling out of the FA Cup on our bottoms. But Ramage should have done a lot better, considering he's been considered for, and had, first-team action for about 1 and a half seasons already.

This is unlike me, the guy around me should know...I've never given stick to the Academy lads for stepping up and be counted for during the atrociously-unlucky period where we have had as many as 11 first-team players in the injury room. But Ramage yesterday was culpable for both goals..and shouldn't be considering the impact he has made for us. Alike to Titus Bramble, or Brumbling Bramble as we all call him ;), I'm beginning to think that he'll need a natural leader like Steven Taylor beside him to help him through.

Which all boils down to the fact that.......Glenn Roeder has to work some magic, or whatever he has left in his hat, to buy us some players in the remainder 10 days of the January transfer market. 3 players are what he essentially needs right now - 1 Left-back, 1 Right-back...and 1 commanding Centre-back..

Buy us creditable players in these positions, and you'll see the Magpies soaring high again in the European places.
