Alan Shearer was a darling to all Newcastle fans, with his love for the club, the town, the people in it..not to mention he snubbed Manchester United, the scums, not ONCE..but TWICE(yes he snubbed them to move to Blackburn, then did the same thing to "come home" to Newcastle)....as well as for the one thing everyone all over the world know he does best - scoring goals, by the truckload I must add...

206 goals for a club within 10 years is no easy feat - it averages up to about 20.6 goals per season...just ask people like Drogba, Crespo, Cisse, Saha..or even Darrent Bent if they could score THAT MANY goals in their careers, let alone at 1 club(For the record, Shearer scored 412 goals for Southampton, Blackburn and Newcastle + he's the all-time leading goalscorer for Newcastle Utd now, after beating the previous record of Wor Jackie by 6 goals)..This goal return in exchange for a now-seemingly-mere sum of GBP15,000,000 is definetly a good deal. Shearer wanted to come back, and did he enjoy his 10-year stay here, regardless of trophyless years at Tyneside...
