Back from Freshmen Orientation(FO) camp for about a week already, and the (un?)surprising thing that people on the streets ask me are:

"Eh, how was the FO camp? Good or not?....is it better than the last one?"

"WAH LAO EH, u HAVE NOT BLOGGED FREQUENTLY as you PROMISED...yet again!"


hahah...and my reply to them, and all you anxious(i hope..) sph3r3-fans out there is:

"Tired lah..6 gruelling days of insufficient sleep and reliance on adrenaline and quick wits have taken a huge toll on my body"

But hey, gruelling and tiring it may be..i've come to realised that, save for my girlfriend, close friends made in TP and involvement within TPSU and its activities, this is the ONLY OTHER THING retaining my livelihood and sanity in a crazy polytechnic and diploma course in which the people are all so freakin' competitive.

so for starters, let's start with the main committee of FO...6 new additions and 2 withdrawals from the previous one set up at OTC, with the Head-GLs from each of the 5 respective empires(Mantiz,Centis,Spydra,Antor,Beenox) coming in. They are: Sarah Lois, YuTing, Fadzly, Gullible Glenda Goh(i'll explain more later) and lastly, Elvi, the 4-letter ONLY HGL...and also Foodmin's new head, Alwyn aka Khim Hong....while the 2 withdrawals were notably Beenox's FA, Sharugasan, who had to leave for China for OCP programme, and Mantiz's 3rd but arguably weakest FA, Wei Sen, who was released by TPSU president and FO camp commandant Sahfahri on a permanent free-transfer..

with the main comm. lined up, it was only a matter of time before FO kicked off with FOWorkshop and it was a good outing for the main committee despite the less-than-encouraging turnout of freshmen capped at around +/-200 max? Nonetheless, it was fun-filled, with Mantiz leading on the 1st day, joint-tops with brother/sister group Centis(who were later known to be merged together as CeMan!)..only to lose out on the last day of workshop-camp to Beenox by the merest of merest of fractions(and i really mean fractions..it's not even a freakin whole number!), with our weakness later made known by Pamela, the ravishing but ABIT sized co-head of Programme, to be in the scavenger hunt game known as HUNT-GRY, where freshmen go around completing a set of 100 tasks set out by the Programmers =)...Still, shout out must go to the GLs for facilitating the flow of freshmen,as well as being the spark for the freshies to shine..as well as to the freshmen for making things happen(small group of people, but nonetheless great bunch to work with..)


Moving on STRAIGHT to FOC(hey,if there wasn't a break during the actual camp itself,shldn't be a break in posting too right?PS:i have no idea what i just typed..f*ckin crap man!)...it was arguably the best FOC,out of the 3 i've been to, i've participated in,no matter the role. Freshies were cheering loudly from the FIRST DAY ONWARDS...it's like "holy crap!..nothing like this has ever happened in FOC history man..or am i just too young?"...and not only that there were ALOT of lookalikes that were either discovered or exposed or both(people like Farhan[Iskandar] & Kimberly[PeiQi] & GL Eddie[Baofa] from Centis...and i'm dead sure i saw the bookshop cashier auntie within Centis as well,or did i see wrongly?*hmm*)...but hey,that ain't the highlight of the whole camp..the highlight was my beloved Mantiz rising to be CHAMPIONS AFTER BEING LAST FROM DAY 1...as co-manager with Iskandar, i can only say that "im proud of my boys and girls,we we looked down and out on Day 1 but we pulled them back into the dressing room at half-time and told them to go out,enjoy the proceedings and take advantage of whatever opportunities that come by. Thankfully we had clinical finishing in the games..but i still can't forget my set of coaches,the GLs of Mantiz, who worked hard to prep my team out for games...it was a fantastic cup win really! everyone wrote us off,but instead we wrote ourselves into the record books...Mantiz - Champions of FOC 06/07!!!"

but on an ending note,it's ultra sad to hear the graduates' parting speech at the camp..i'll be losing a lot of fellow students that i truly respect and have a great friendship with(Alvin Ting, my personal mentor/FA at FO 05/06..Ah Tan, the ever-respectable Logistics head who i salute for great work wherever he goes..Andrew, the crazy yet playfully-hardworking ass who made FO a success..Iskandar, my fellow FA for this FO..disciplinerian who helped built Mantiz from scratch..Sahfahri, the President of TPSU and Camp Commandant of FO who, though found wanting at a few tasks throughout our Executive Year, has been a great friend to me..Ah Fat, great guy from INTSC whom i've enjoyed a good working relationship with from 2 FOs as well as INT Director's Cup..Alwyn, my primary school mate whom i've lost contact with until i met him at Fun Camp 04/05..hah!..Alvin Neo, vice-president of TPSU who has a knack for trouble-shooting as well as having girls falling for him..hah swee!..as well as Guang, the crappy guy who works as hard as a mouse too!...lastly Yaoda, weird but nonetheless 1 of the nicest guys u can ever meet on the street..just need to shave off THAT large cube of ice before u see the real him)...likewise for all the other Year 3 mates whom i've not mentioned over here...you all know who u are..people like Valerie,Ah Boy,Jimmy,Yasin etc etc....

next year will be my turn to go up and deliver THAT speech,along with (hopefully) people like Clifton, Victor, Fadezly Mountain, Wei Qi...will i cry or will i just shrug it off? i don't know yet for sure..but what i do know is that come my graduation days,i'll sure miss the living hell that felt like heaven,that is TPSU =).......
